The
opening of the M60 in 2000 has already had a great and positive
impact on the local economy, with activity and interest at an all
time high. Tameside is the place to do business east of Manchester
- officially the best in the north west.
The Borough of Tameside is located 7 miles to the east of Manchester
bordering Oldham, High Peak, Manchester and Stockport. Tameside
covers 40 square miles and has nine towns within its boundary. Each
town enjoys a unique character of its own making Tameside a genuinely
diverse place to visit and do business.
Tameside
forms part of the Greater Manchester sub region. The partners in
the Greater Manchester Forum have developed a sub-regional Economic
Development Plan and Tameside’s own plan will complement this
document.
