The outline planning consent for a major mixed use scheme on the old Oldhams Batteries site in Denton Town Centre was approved by the Council in summer 2006.

The site is owned by Langtrees and the land has now been cleared and is ready for development to commence.

Along with the new Morrisons superstore and Crownpoint North Shopping Centre top name retailers like Tesco, Boots , BHS & New Look are being attracted to Denton – which is now able to compete with
other top retailing towns around the M60 motorway route.
