A high quality mixed use waterside redevelopment taking advantage of its proximity to the town centre and the canalside and potential for Metrolink extension is now being brought forward by Welsh developers Watkin Jones who were appointed in Spring 2004.

The new development will be centred on a marina to be created off the old canal line which will bring a focus and identity to the development as well as opening up an attractive canal frontage to the south.

The new development is to the south of Droylsden town centre and includes open spaces, a residential mix of modern houses & flats, proposed hotel & leisure.
