Tameside has experienced a renaissance of activity in new and urban regeneration developments including major inward investment projects that have been brought to fruition through partnerships involving businesses, developers, landowners and the Council.
The development of Ashton Moss in Tameside is a classic example of this regeneration and the site is playing a key role in the economic development of the area, which, in turn will strengthen the area's marketability. Ashton Moss is now helping to establish Ashton as a vibrant and new strategic location in the North West.
The opportunity to develop sites such as Ashton Moss, adjacent to motorway junctions and major conurbations such as Greater Manchester are rare…so that was something that we were very excited about at the outset. The key factors were location - accessibility to the motorway network, secondly that there was very little provision across all sectors at that time,…industrial, office,, retail, leisure…. that we could see a market that was completely underprovided for…and when we got into the detail we could see that the local authority were very committed to this scheme and wanted to see it happen….”
.Now the success of the scheme is evident. Ashton Moss is a flagship development spanning over 200 acres. With more than 1.4 million sq ft of high quality office, industrial, retail and leisure space the development has helped to transform the local area, acting as a catalyst for wealth and job creation.
