  PARTNERSHIP: Portland Basin    
The regeneration of Portland Basin, the Ashton canal basin, along with Henry Square, forms an important part of the Ashton Town Centre Strategy. Development has been promoted by the Council with a consultancy study and the re-construction of the Portland Basin Heritage Centre with integral residential accommodation. The aspiration is for a mixed-use development and proposals for further canal side residential uses. In terms of end use, the area could form part of a cultural centre, with a canal theme.
